Preventing Emphysema

You can reduce you chances of developing emphysema by:

  • Not smoking
  • Avoiding exposure to second-hand smoke
  • Avoiding exposure to air pollution or irritants
  • Wearing protective gear if exposed to irritants or toxins at work
